Are you engaged? Newly in love? Then this blog post is for you! As a black female photographer, I want to share my story and some tips with all of you. Photography is something that has always been close to my heart, and it’s something I’m truly passionate about. Capturing memories that will last a lifetime is an honor, and I feel so blessed that I am able to do what I love for a living.

The Liriodendron Mansion is a historic wedding venue located in Bel Air, Maryland. I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding there for a beautiful couple. Here’s to Mr. & Mrs. Cameron Kane and years of love and prosperity! The mansion was built in 1898 and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. The estate grounds include a formal garden, a pond, and a gazebo. In addition, the mansion is a popular wedding venue for couples who are looking for an elegant setting for their wedding. It has the capacity of 200 guests and features a variety of amenities, to include a grand staircase, a garden, and a ballroom.

As a result, the Liriodendron Mansion has been featured in several publications, including “The Knot” and “Brides.”

Nonetheless, if you would like a tour, the mansion is open for free tours every Wednesday from 1 to 7 pm, and every Sunday from 1 to 4 pm.

Instead of packing it to capacity I would recommend this venue for smaller intimate weddings. When making your contingency plan for your wedding, moving 200 people inside this venue would be extremely tight and will leave little to no room with chair placements for a wedding ceremony. However, weather-permitting outside larger weddings are a home run.

Shelly and Cameron’s love story is so organic that it feels just perfect. Her older sister, Jo, worked with Cameron, and just knew he would be great for Shelly. They were both in college when they were introduced and started dating. Although young, they are very clear and determined on their path in life. I love the pureness of their connection and how they vibe off each other. As humble and easy going as they are, their chemistry is unmatched. Even though Shelly is shy, with Cameron by her side she is braver than ever. To me that says, together they will conquer anything.

What I most love about them is the sincerity of their love for each other. Cameron mentions all the time how much he loves Shelly’s laugh and smile. Those were the qualities that drew him to her from the beginning. They both have a twinkle in their eye when they speak about each other that can only be described as magic. It fills my heart with happiness to see two young people so deeply in love and I am confident that they will continue to bring happiness into each others lives for many years to come.

One of the interior features I love about The Liriodendron Mansion is the staircase. It is stunning and makes for a great picture.

In addition to that gorgeous staircase at The Liriodendron Mansion, the outside terrace at night is absolutely beautiful. The Liriodendron Mansion is a beautiful example of love and romance.

The terrace at night provides a romantic scene you would see in a movie. Not only is the outside terrace great for beautiful portraits, it is perfect for an outdoor reception space in the spring, summer or fall. It’s truly a romantic setting that will make your heart swoon.
